Who organized?

We'll have the upstairs bar and balcony to ourselves, just look for a large German speaking crowd. Or if you rather mingle in the backyard Garden I'm sure a lot of our members will be hanging there.

Hallo Zusammen,

It's been awhile since we've had a meetup, so let's kick off the summer with a bang at The Porch Bar in the East Village. In case it rains we have the downstairs bar to ourselves, but if the weather cooperates we also have a backyard garden.

This bar has no food, but we are free to bring whatever we want and eat it there.

If you need exact directions, check out hopstop.com

Viele Grüße und Frohes Sommer!

Sorry about the upstairs being closed. The owner had to stut down the upstairs due to a technical problem. Hope everyone was able to find us.

Who attended?

    •  good group of people
    •  Hi Everyone, Thanks for coming. Hope you were all able to find us in the bar, we had a last minute change of plans with the upstairs bar being closed because of a technical problem.

Had a great time and got to give my German its timely test run.
    •  I had a great time but thought that it was quite difficult to differentiate the Culture group from everyone else. Maybe next time, if possible, there could be a designated sign or area for the German speakers.
    •  nice to finally get back for one. it had been a while.

It was nice meeting people, the place was kind of crowded though. getting people to talk to me was also kind of difficult?by the time i got there people had already broken into little groups and it was difficult to try to mingle in a group that was deep in conversation - especially with the kinda awkward space. i did meet quite a few people and hope to see them again but they left before i was ready?so i just tried talking to people again - to no avail - so i just eventually kind of gave up and sat there finishing my last beer and smoking a cigarette. i'm bringing a friend of mine with me for the next meeting but all in all i had a good time and i'll be back when my schedule allows it!
    •  Not enough people, and English use was rampant. Not as good as the last meetup, but still ok. I met the organizer for the group and she seemed nice.
    •  It was too crowded and too noisy. I can't hear and understand German over loud music. I was uncomfortable and didn't stay long.
